Package

R480 000 - R540 000 per annum - dependent on experience. Deductions included in CTC are CAMAF medical aid, Old Mutual Pension fund and Old Mutual life/funeral cover. Performance bonus over and above CTC.

Staff Leadership and Co-ordination

  • Provide leadership and direction to staff.
  • Provide role clarity to staff and makes available necessary tools to facilitate performance.
  • Ensures that there is clear focus and co-ordination of all activities; and that there are clearly communicated performance standards and objectives.
  • Set standards for individual and overall performance and take steps to ensure it operates as a high-performance and effective team.
  • Monitors and provides regular feedback on the individual performance of immediate subordinates and takes appropriate action where necessary.
  • Acts as a Coach and Mentor to direct reports.
  • Ensures that there are always clear lines of communication within the Business Unit.
  • Ensures that there are training and development plans in place for staff.
  • Ensures self-development and training & development of all staff in the Business Unit.
  • Assesses staffing requirements on an ongoing basis, appoints appropriately qualified personnel and ensures that they are fully utilised in terms of their skills set and experience.

Financial Management

  • Provides input into the Business Unit's annual budget.
  • Monitors costs, disbursements, and overhead expenditures and makes recommendations to the Partner.
  • Ensures that invoices are submitted to clients timeously and follows up vigorously with all parties to ensure payment is received.
  • Ensures that clients are billed timeously.
  • Manages staff billing and completion of time sheets and takes decisive action where there are deviations.
  • Manages and ensures staff recoverability rate.
  • Achieves productivity targets and WIP ratio.

Project Management

Responsibilities:

  • Manages every project from asking for client information and kick-off meetings through to fee collection.
  • Takes ownership and accountability for engagements.
  • Chart out project objectives, plans, and schedules, set performance requirements, and select project participants.
  • Ensures compliance with project requirements such as quality control through the Consultants.
  • Provides regular reports to the Partner on the status of the project.
  • Monitors the project budget, tracks expense and minimizes exposure and risk in the project.
  • Ensures that the budget that was agreed at inception of the engagement is being met.
  • Ensures that no hours are written off on projects.
  • Ensures that project deadlines are met.
  • Ensures that activities move according to a predetermined schedule.
  • Communicates regularly with clients and other stakeholders on project status.
  • Submits reports to clients.
  • Maintains continuous communication with staff on the status of client.
  • Maintains strict adherence to the budgetary guidelines and quality standards.
  • Ensures all required project documentation is accurately and timeously completed.
  • Deals effectively with technical client issues and resolves same timeously.
  • Ensures that clients' compliance needs that are outsourced to Accensis are met.
  • Monitors and evaluates the Business Unit’s performance in terms of:
  • customer satisfaction
  • budget performance
  • adherence to standard operating procedures
  • business loss/gained
  • Informs Tax BU after financials are finalized to ensure tax return can be done.
  • Ensures Tax BU has sufficient knowledge of clients to deal with queries, etc.
  • Drafts Proposals and Engagement Letters.
  • Research complex topics and trains staff accordingly.
  • Facilitates general training for staff within the BU.
  • Reviews files and ensures compliance with accounting standards.
  • Develops relationships with clients to be able to obtain payments where applicable

Operational Efficiency and Effectiveness- Audit

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for full statutory audits on small to medium and large-sized firms in the private and public sectors, in various industries.
  • Ensures compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards, International Financial Reporting Standards for small and medium-sized entities, SA Companies Act, International Standards on Auditing, King 4, and the Income Tax Act.
  • Prepares detailed time budgets and allocates audit work to audit team members, planning meetings/agendas.
  • Technically inclined and is up to date with the latest accounting and audit standards.
  • To attend various programs to keep abreast with the changes in the standards and relay that to the firm.
  • Training and developing the staff on all aspects of audit and accounting and ensuring that regular training is conducted.
  • Able to implement on your own and run with projects and set up a mini technical/training sphere for the firm and be the leader in charge of this.
