Desired Experience & Qualification
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- BCom Accounting Degree OR equivalent qualification
- SAIPA articles completed (Essential)
- At least 1-2 years post-articles experience in the accounting industry
- Proficiency in Pastel and Excel
- CaseWare at least at an intermediate level
- Experience in compiling annual financials
- Experience in use of Xero (Advantageous)
- Applicants must be based in Pietermaritzburg
Package & Remuneration:
• R281 400 per annum, dependent on experience and qualification. Benefits included in CTC are company contribution to CAMAF medical aid, OldMutual Provident fund, and Group Life cover.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Accounting Write-Up
- Processes transactions using Xero software from source documents to trial balance.
- Performing general reconciliations
2. VAT Submissions
- Prints Tax Type Reports
- Populates VAT returns and submits to the manager(s) for review
- Files Returns
- Notifies the client to make payment
- Follows up with the client(s) to ensure payment is made
3. PAYE Submissions
- Processes the Payroll.
- Prints report and submits to the manager(s) for review
- Dispatches payslips to the client(s)
- Populates EMP201 and submits to the manager(s) for review
- Dispatches EMP201 to the client(s) for payment
- Files return and advises client(s) of due date
- Follows-up with the client(s) to ensure payment is made
4. Year-end Financials
- Compiles financial statements as per office procedures
5. General Administration
- Monitors W.I.P. of the client(s) on a daily basis
- Attends to daily queries from SARS and the client(s)
6. Project Management
- Manages every project: from asking for client information and kick-off meeting through to fee collection
- Charts out project objectives, plans and schedules, sets performance requirements, and selects project participants
- Devises project work plans and makes revisions as and when need arises
- Ensures compliance with project requirements, such as quality control, etc., through the consultants
- Monitors the project budget, tracks expenses and minimizes exposure and risk in the project
- Ensures that minimal hours are written off on projects
- Ensures that project deadlines are met
- Ensures that activities move according to the pre-determined schedule
- Communicates regularly with the client(s) and other stakeholders on project status
- Maintains strict adherence to the budgetary guidelines and quality standards
- Ensures all required project documentation is accurately and timeously completed
- Deals effectively with client issues and resolves same timeously
