Position Details

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To start a SAIPA training contract and gain experience as a Trainee Accountant, en route to attaining the Professional Accountant (SA) qualification.

ROLE: We are looking for an individual who is committed to the 3 full years it takes to complete your SAIPA traineeship. The role is involved in providing outsourced accounting services to our existing client base.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Accounting

• Process transactions from source documents on Xero software

• Perform general ledger reconciliations & produce a trial balance

• Prepare and maintain Fixed Asset Registers

• Perform tax and deferred tax computations

• Other ad-hoc accounting related tasks

2. VAT Submissions

• Prints Tax Type Reports & populates VAT returns and submits to Manager for review.

• Files Returns & notifies client to make payment

• Follows-up with client to ensure payment is made.

3. PAYE Submissions

• Processes the Payroll.

• Prints report and submits to Manager for review.

• Dispatches payslips to client.

• Populates EMP201 and submits to Manager for review.

• Dispatches EMP201 to client for payment.

• Files return and advises client of due date.

• Follows-up with client to ensure payment is made.

• Attending and assisting with EMP501 reconciliations and returns

4. Year-end Financials

• Compiles financials as per office procedures.

5. General Administration

• Monitors W.I.P. of clients

• Attends to queries from SARS and clients.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

BCom Accounting Degree/Advanced Diploma in Accounting or equivalent.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Entry level experience (advantageous).

• Xero (advantageous)

• CaseWare (advantageous).

• Must be willing to travel to clients

• Good communication skills

• Team player with a strong work ethic

• Demonstrates initiative and responsibility for learning and development, tasks assigned and career in general.

Package & Remuneration

CTC: R132 000 per annum. Benefits included in CTC are CAMAF Medical Aid, and Old Mutual Life/Funeral Cover.
