How I grow as a young professional by prioritizing travel
How I grow as a young professional by prioritising travel
Travelling is such a beautiful experience. Not only does it allow you to experience different places, but also challenges you to view life differently.
Travel is more than just relaxing and unwinding.
It’s true you get to pause and forget about the busyness of your day-to-day life. I mean, you get to plan your 24-hour day with activities that you love.
Education
You get to wake up in a different country or city and experience different languages, cultures, and customs. Get the best experience by interacting with the locals, buying local foods from street vendors, and attending local festivals. You also get the opportunity to learn a new language.
Taking time out to relax and rewind does wonders for your mental and physical health. Taking a few days away from work and your busy lives allows you time to rethink and strategise. You will most likely come back refreshed and ready for life’s challenges.
Financial planning
You tend to find that most people who love travelling plan at least one holiday in a year. planning your work schedules, and requesting leave in due time. You also need to find accommodation and travel arrangements. Lastly are the activities you must plan according to the travel itinerary.
This year, I planned and experienced my first international travel to Thailand.
I believe everyone should at least once travel to Thailand as that country offers a lot when it comes to tourism.
The planning took months as not only did I plan for it financially, but I also had to ensure I plan well according to my work schedule.
I did the research
I researched things like the ‘best and most affordable time or season to travel’ to that city.
The best piece of information was finding out that our Rand currency is stronger than the Thai Baht. That made the financial planning less stressful. I also had to research their culture, dress code, and social do’s and don’t.
I had to ensure I didn’t infringe on their practices.
Can I work and travel?

This initiative will allow the members to have their vacation experience while embracing the opportunity to work remotely at one of the PrimeGlobal member firms that signed up for the program
Did you know we are also part of the program? Have a look at how PrimeGlobal members can come work with us!
Not only can you enjoy a vacation, but you will be presented with a chance to build connections with professionals around the globe and experience international work environments.
This initiative really caught my attention as young professionals with busy work schedules, such initiatives will really make a difference in our travel planning and work schedules.
I believe travelling can be a good addiction. When the travel bug hits you, you will always plan your next travel destination. As a first-time traveller, I advise you to travel to countries that don’t require visas. You will always plan your next travel destination when the travel bug hits you.
Here is a list of countries that South Africans can visit without a visa.
This makes the travelling planning less stressful. Also, try to look for countries or cities that have a lower currency than our own country.
