Our favourite vegan bites and desserts

Chia Seed Pudding

Ingredients:

  • 1 can of coconut cream
  • 1/2 cup of chia seeds
  • Sugar, sweetener or honey (to taste)
  • Optional - toppings such as dark chocolate, peanut butter, toasted nuts or cut fruit

Method:

  • In an air tight jar of choice, combine coconut cream, chia seeds and sweetener of choice until mixed
  • Leave in the fridge overnight
  • Once set, serve with desired toppings

Scrambled tofu and methi herbs (fenugreek leaves)

Ingredients:

  • 1 block of tofu
  • 1 tsp tumeric
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp jeera powder
  • a pinch of salt
  • a bunch of methi herbs, washed thoroughly
  • 1 green chilli (optional)
  • 1 slice of toast

Method:

  • Dry block of tofu in paper towel until most of the moisture is out
  • In a frying pan on medium heat, add tofu to oil and stir until it resembles a scrambled-like texture
  • Add in spices and salt and braise for 5 minutes
  • Add methi herbs and green chilli (optional). Cook until dry or most of the liquid is cooked down
  • Serve on toast

Simple vegan hot dog

Ingredients

  • FRY's brand hot dog
  • white or brown hot dog buns
  • 1/2 onion
  • tomato sauce or any other sauce of choice

Method

  • Heat up oil in pan. On medium heat, cook FRY's brand vegan hot dogs until lightly brown on each side
  • Chop 1/2 onion into rings and cook in olive oil or vegan butter until caramelised
  • Serve hot dogs with sauce of choice
